Can I book an ultrasound scan myself?

Yes    -  anyone who would like to have an ultrasound scan and has not done so during the last year can have it performed privately.

Alternatively, your GP could refer you for a scan on the NHS, if appropriate.

To refer yourself privately or on the NHS you can make an appointment, by calling Diagnostic Healthcare on 0161 9295679. You can choose from a wide range of convenient appointment times, including weekends and evenings.

Please note that if your GP or consultant has referred you, we will require the completion of
a  referral form online.

You will normally be offered an appointment within 5 days of the receipt of a referral. The results and a report including a treatment recommendation, are sent to the original referrer within a maximum of two days of the test being completed.

Alternatively if you have made a self-referral we will send the results to your home address. You will then need to make an appointment with your GP for the results to be explained to you.
