What is an MRI Scan?
MRI means Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is a non-invasive, painless, diagnostic scan which provides a detailed picture, allowing the radiologist to see internal organs, blood vessels, muscles, joints, tumors and inflamed areas, without the need for surgical intervention or x-rays.
The scan can be used to detect the early stages of many conditions.
This early detection greatly improves patient outcomes.
It is also used to diagnose physical changes in your body which can not be identified through other diagnostic means. The scan is used to plan treatment for injuries and diseases.
