    • 25th Sept to 28th Sept 2012
    • 2 days of theory followed by 2 days of hands-on training on MR system (with assignments). Participants can subscribe to different dates for the hands-on training via the web

Developed for

  • People who work in a radiology department, specialise in MRI, and have an actual basic knowledge of MRI and several years of experience in the field of MRI.

Aim

  • Course includes both theoretical and practical components with a physical/applicable approach that participants can use during their day-to-day work.

Objectives

  • Refresher component
    • Participants supplement and deepen their theoretical and state-of-the-art knowledge of various aspects relating to MRI specialisations.
  • Optimisation component
    • Mastering of IQ optimisation, understanding MR parameters in order to achieve protocol optimisation

Content

  • Refresher component
    • Short review of basics, overview of MR RF pulse sequences, MRI features: MRA-MRC –fMRI-DWI- DTI- spectroscopyfat and water suppression techniques, key MR parameters, artifacts, parallel imaging techniques, interactive quiz
  • Optimisation component
    • IQ: S/N ratio, artifacts, resolution and contrast, RF pulse sequences and MRI methods, key MR parameters, protocol and parameter setup
  • Hands-on training on Philips MR system is included and covers practical items such as:
    • Tasks on different applications, parameter handling, workflow and protocol setup, adapting parameters in order to realize a good  protocol
